About GOAT Squad Hockey
GOAT Squad Hockey is a free dream-team builder played on a rink. Every position spins at
once: a left wing, a centre, a right wing, a defence pair, your goalie, a fourth-line skater and a
head coach behind the bench. Then you hit STOP to freeze the board, then lock one player at a time until
the squad is full.
Then you play. The Gauntlet runs your squad through a ladder of the greatest teams in hockey
history in best-of-seven series, with line scores, box scores and cap space to spend between rounds. One
loss ends the run.
A new daily squad drops every day with identical reels worldwide, so everyone is solving the same puzzle.
Frequently asked questions
Is GoatLab free to play?
Yes. Every game runs in your browser with no download and no payment. An optional account saves your builds, and optional extras exist, but the games themselves are free.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play, post scores and take on the daily challenge as a guest. Signing in with Google just saves your players to a personal Hall of Fame and carries your progress between devices.
Can I use the same player twice?
No. Players are locked to one spot on your roster. Both defence slots draw from the same pool, so signing a blueliner on one side takes him off the other.
How are the games decided?
Your squad’s ratings drive a hockey simulation that produces realistic scores, goals, assists and goaltending lines for every game in the series, overtime included.
